Kiss me at sunset

Kiss me at sunset

Place your hands on mine

And look deeply into my eyes

Pull me closer to you

Kiss my forehead

Place your hand on my heart

Kiss the tip of my nose

Pause to catch your breath and notice

That my breath is in sync with yours

Put your hand on my neck and kiss my lips

Kiss me at sunset

So that the beautiful hues of orange and reds

Burgundies and lavender will paint us in delight

Let your lips touch my lips and taste the honey of our combined oneness

I lay my head on your shoulder intoxicated in the dusk

And I feel you so close to me yet so far away and I want you

Commune with me

Join me at sunset

“I love you”

You say and I am lost in those words and anticipate the next kiss

Caress

The touching of your lips to the nape of my neck

“and I you…”

I utter not quite ready but oh so ready to lose it all with you

My eyes have been closed but I open slightly to see the true you

My angel

My everything and you lean in to me

And your lips greet mine

And you kiss me at sunset

Honey on our lips.

Interview: the Poem

Do you miss me?

Do you love me?

Are you in love with me?

Do you know how much I loved you?

Why do you kiss me like that?

Why are your texts always about how horny you are?

Do you see me?

The real me?

Do you know me?

Do you ever think about me?

What’s my last name?

When is my birthday?

How old am I?

Do you remember the day we first met?

Can you say more to me than just ‘sup’?

Are you, really married?

Are you in a relationship?

Why am I number two instead of your number one?

Can you pretend to give a fuck about me?

Do you ever think about me?

How long do you expect me to wait?

When will you learn your lesson?

When will you value me more than drugs?

When will I learn my lesson?

Never

the morning/mourning light

Image

I often wonder what heaven is like

A castle upon the clouds

A courtyard filled with the ones we love

A valley filled with wild life

Heaven

It’s going to be rocking until the morning light

It’s going to be rocking until the mourning light

Tupac said he wonders if heavens got a ghetto

I wonder if that ghetto mentality is gone

I want to believe there are streams

And sunlight

And everyone is rich

And all the ratchet hoes have given up their hoe activity

I wonder if there are trees and flowers

And bees buzzing around

I wonder if heaven is like the summer land

A perpetual time of stasis

Where it’s never too hot or too cold

If heaven is like dusk but all year round

I know it’s going to be rocking until the morning light

Rocking until the mourning light

The Pier — Poem 1

meet me under the bridge
as the tide rolls in we embrace
caught in the waves of emotion and the sea
eyes locking
hands locking
lips locking
hidden beneath the pier
sun setting in the distance
and the waters still rolling
surrounding our feet
rising to our knees
and we try to balance
life
outside of here and inside of us
we hide
but not for too long
meeting in moments and hidden embraces
under the bridge
we know we must part
but don’t have the heart
to let go.
