Interview: the Poem

Do you miss me?

Do you love me?

Are you in love with me?

Do you know how much I loved you?

Why do you kiss me like that?

Why are your texts always about how horny you are?

Do you see me?

The real me?

Do you know me?

Do you ever think about me?

What’s my last name?

When is my birthday?

How old am I?

Do you remember the day we first met?

Can you say more to me than just ‘sup’?

Are you, really married?

Are you in a relationship?

Why am I number two instead of your number one?

Can you pretend to give a fuck about me?

Do you ever think about me?

How long do you expect me to wait?

When will you learn your lesson?

When will you value me more than drugs?

When will I learn my lesson?

Never

if tomorrow never comes

Image

Let me hold your hand, one last time.

Let me kiss your lips like there is no tomorrow

Let us drink and dance and sing

For if tomorrow never comes we will have lived a life

Speak to me only with kind words

And let the foul words lay upon deaf ears

Caress me with your generosity

Seduce me with your sincerity

Hold me, embrace me, and touch me

For if tomorrow never comes we will have lived a life and touched

Let me whisper my dreams to you

And in return regale me with your goals

Show me all of the things that are your passion

Your life’s work

Your mission

Let us dance, and kiss, and hold each other

For if tomorrow never comes we will have lived a life, and touched, and loved one another.

The Pier — Poem 1

meet me under the bridge
as the tide rolls in we embrace
caught in the waves of emotion and the sea
eyes locking
hands locking
lips locking
hidden beneath the pier
sun setting in the distance
and the waters still rolling
surrounding our feet
rising to our knees
and we try to balance
life
outside of here and inside of us
we hide
but not for too long
meeting in moments and hidden embraces
under the bridge
we know we must part
but don’t have the heart
to let go.
